With one out and Kelsey Maxwell standing on third base, Krohn fanned Zoe Bradford but the third strike pitch got away from the Tiger catcher, allowing Maxwell to score the winning run in a 4-3 GHS win.

Maxwell reached base by way of a hit batter to open the ninth. Krohn, who had shut out the Lady Bulldogs since the third inning, walked Madalyn Shubert and both runners moved into scoring position on a wild pitch.

Gallatin escaped unharmed in the seventh inning after the Lady Tigers loaded the bases with no outs. Caragan Baker induced a pair of fly balls and a pivotal Tiger baserunner was thrown out at the plate on a fielder’s choice.

Gallatin grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first when Baker singled, Bethany Bailey moved her to second with a sacrifice bunt and Karley Salmon singled to drive her in. The Lady Bulldogs added two more runs in the third when Baker and Maddi Michael each singled and scored.

Princeton scored once in the fourth and twice in the sixth to tie the game. Salmon took over for Baker on the mound and blanked the Lady Tigers over the final two innings.

Gallatin also won the junior varsity game, 9-8.

The Lady Bulldogs were shut out twice by Putnam County on Monday, in varsity and junior varsity games.

Karley Salmon doubled. Addison Burns and Bethany Bailey each singled to account for Gallatin hits. Madalyn Shubert and Essie Williamson each walked twice. Burns and Maddi Michael also walked.

Gallatin hits the road for three straight games, beginning Thursday at Masyville. The Lady Bulldogs play at Mid-Buchanan on Monday and South Harrison on Tuesday.
