Joan (Lumm) Hartzler, 84, Pattonsburg, passed away Sept. 9, 2018, at a Bethany nursing home.

She was born June 29, 1934, in Howe, IN, the daughter of Alvin Charles and Mary Elizabeth (Bonabarger) Lumm. They preceded her in death.

On Aug. 9, 1953, she married Stanley M. Hartzler. He survives of the home. Joan worked as a cook in the dietary department at Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Nalle; brother, Bud Lumm; and sisters, Doris Kitchen, Mary Jan Fennell, and Marlene Mullins.

Joan is also survived by her daughters, April (John) Jones, Lowry City, Robin (Roger) Rhodes, Brookfield, Pam McCrary, Pattonsburg; sisters, Sarah Cox, Muskegon, MI, and Barbara Pelfrey, LaGrange, IN; brother, Clarence Lumm, Princeton, MN; grandchildren Amanda Carter, Shannon McCrary, Henry Nalle, Bryan Nalle, Sarah Tate, and Nick Rhodes; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 at Roberson Funeral Home in Pattonsburg. Burial will follow in Pattonsburg Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home where friends may call after 9 a.m. Saturday.
