It’s Christmas time in the newest —and tiniest — town in Texas. And it’s beginning to look a lot like trouble in Doublewide. Not only are the trailer park residents dealing with the stress of the holiday season, but they’ve discovered that Doublewide is being double-crossed by the county.

The Gallatin Theater League (GTL) will hold auditions for “A Doublewide Texas Christmas,” a comedy play written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16 at Courter Theater. The play has a cast of six women and three men, and auditions will consist of reading excerpts from the play.

All are welcome to audition. If you are interested in helping with building and painting sets, working concessions, set crew or participating in some capacity, please attend or contact GTL President Amy McMahon. You can also check us out on our GTL Facebook page.

This annual event is scheduled to be performed on Nov. 15, 16, and 17 at Courter Theater. Tickets will go on sale at a later date.

The theater league will also be holding their monthly board meeting at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, and all are welcome to attend.
