The new rate, an increase from last year, was set at 4.2372, and the temporary rate is 0.2665. The increase is due to the Hancock Amendment. Assessed valuation dropped and the rate increased as a result to balance the effect. Previous year’s rates had been dropping when the assessed valuation was increasing.

The board set admission prices to athletic events at the following rates: baseball/softball admission is $3 for adults, $1 for students, and $1 for senior citizens. Basketball admission is $4 for adults, $2 for students, and $1 for senior citizens. Family passes are $40. Family passes are for a household and are honored for all seasons at all Tri-County home games.

The board moved to cash the maturing CD and seek bids for reinvestment at the regular September meeting.

An executive session was held for personnel.

The substitute teachers list was updated.

An extra duty contract for cheerleading was offered to RaCail King pending a background check.

The next regular meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 10.
