Polo took a 2-0 lead in the third, despite no hits off Caragan Baker, and that lead held up until the bottom of the sixth when Gallatin pushed across its lone run.

Karley Salmon, who had two of Gallatin’s four hits, reached first on an error and advanced to second on a second error. A ground ball out by Addison Burns moved her to third. A 2-out single by Zoe Bradford brought Salmon home. Essie Williamson walked to open Gallatin’s half of the seventh inning but the Lady Panthers were able to get out of the inning unscathed.

Baker took the loss for Gallatin despite allowing no earned runs. She struck out four and walked three. Shelby Copeland picked up the win for Polo.
