A Hamilton man received moderate injuries in an accident that happened at 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 23.
According to the Highway Patrol, Dennis McBroom, 60, Hamilton, was northbound on Highway 13.
About four miles south of Gallatin, Mr. McBroom traveled off the west side of the roadway and struck an embankment. His 2005 Hyundai Elantra came to rest in the ditch facing northwest.
Mr. McBroom was transported by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center. He was not wearing a seat belt. The Hyundai was totaled.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. J.M. Cross.
At 6:01 a.m. on Aug. 23, Mr. McBroom was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in for felony DWI-habitual offender; driving without a valid license; and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.
He was released for medical treatment.
