After a long day that included a pair of extra inning ball games, Gallatin’s Lady Bulldogs came home with a third place trophy from Saturday’s Bill Hill Memorial Tournament in Albany.

Gallatin drubbed King City, 14-2, to open the tournament, but fell to #2 seed and eventual champion Stanberry, 6-5, in extra innings. The Lady Bulldogs claimed third place by defeating Worth County, 8-7, in another extra inning contest.
The Lady Bulldogs scored 27 runs in the tournament while allowing only 15. Caragan Baker picked up both wins on the mound for Gallatin.
Offensively, Karley Salmon went 6-for-10 with five runs batted in. Addison Burns went 3-for-7 with five walks. Essie Williamson was 2-for-6 with five walks.
12-1 over Milan
Gallatin delivered a 12-1, six-inning victory in GRC play at Milan on Tuesday. The Lady Bulldogs scored all of their runs in the final four innings.
Caragan Baker and Addison Burns each finished with a pair of hits. Baker homered and drove in two runs. Burns homered and plated three runs. Kelsey Maxwell doubled and scored twice. Essie Williamson tripled, scored twice and drove in a run.
Madalyn Shubert, Karley Salmon, Zoe Bradford, Bethany Bailey and Maddi Michael each scored. Bailey drove in a pair of runs. Shubert and Michael each plated a run.
Baker struck out three to earn the win on the mound and allowed five hits, no walks and no earned runs.
The Lady Bulldogs open their home schedule tomorrow (Thursday) against Polo.
