Edward A. “Skip” Uhler, age 75 of Springfield, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 28, 2018, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
On March 26, 1943, Skip was born in Harrisburg, PA, to Jack and Pat Uhler.
In 1961, Skip graduated from Hickman High School in Columbia, MO, and shortly after graduation he joined the Navy.
On Nov. 25, 1967, Skip was united in marriage to Linda Lynch and she preceded him in death on Feb. 19, 2017.
Skip was also honored with being a third generation Eagle Scout along with his father and grandfather. This was an honor he dedicated many hours of service toward; he enjoyed demonstrating Scout spirit.
Skip retired at the age of 59 from being a sales representative for a trucking line and moved to Springfield from Atlanta, GA, in 2016.
In his spare time, Skip enjoyed K.C. Chiefs football, Royals baseball, and he was a Missouri Tigers fan.
Skip is survived by his sister Lynn Uhler; two sisters-in-law, Sandy Evans and husband Steve, and Susan Spruill and husband John; nieces and nephews, Nancy Evans Bifulco, Todd Evans, Jonathan Spruill, Jack Spruill and wife Julie, Liz Spruill and husband Austen; great nieces and nephews, Mary Bifulco, Hannah Evans, Pfifer, Lincoln and Henley Spruill, Hunter and Holden Garges. In addition to his wife, Skip was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Chris Evans.
Arrangements are under the care of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Services will be announced at a later date. The family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri.
