Former Gallatin student accepted to Marine Corps Band

Jane Dias, former student at Gallatin Middle School, has auditioned for and been accepted to the United States Marine Corps Band. Jane, who last attended Gallatin schools in 2014, is the daughter of Alison Gibson and niece of John and Janece Gibson of Gallatin.

Jane has attended Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa, since 2015, and served as marching band drum major since 2017. She is the principal flutist for the Des Moines Youth Symphony and has been selected to the Iowa All-State Band and All-State Orchestra.

A Marine Corps recruiter encouraged Jane to audition for the United States Marine Corps Band and she passed two auditions before enlisting in May of this year.
