Charlie was born on November 21, 1931, to Raymond and Bessie (Bowers) Fuller in Kidder. He attended country school and graduated from Gallatin High School in 1949. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy.
After his service, he returned to Kansas City where he attended barber school and met the love of his life, Norma (Cathy) Dowell of Fowler, KS. They were married on Jan. 6, 1957. Later he joined the Kansas City Fire Department and climbed the ladder to Captain before retiring.
He loved to work his farm in Gallatin on his days off and after retirement, especially growing watermelons and cantaloupes. After retirement he and Cathy purchased a recreational vehicle and enjoyed many vacations to Texas and Minnesota. He loved to hunt and fish. Charlie and Cathy moved to Cameron in 2005 after selling their farm. Charlie was a long-time member of Gallatin’s First Christian Church.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and five furry four-legged children.
