The recipients of the Daviess County Health Department scholarships are Briar Roll and Craig Lewis.
Briar Roll is a 2018 Gallatin High School graduate who is enrolled at University of Missouri in Columbia and plans to pursue a degree in biochemistry and apply for medical school. Briar is the daughter of David and Laurie Roll of Gallatin.
Craig Lewis is a 2017 Winston School graduate and is enrolled in Northwest Missouri State University and will be a sophomore this next year.
He plans to transfer to University of Missouri in Kansas City for a pharmacy degree after his sophomore year. Craig is the son of Eric and Deanna Lewis of Winston.
Each student received a $1,000 scholarship from funds donated to the health department by a community donor. The Board of Trustees wanted to give back to the community by investing in our youth who plan to seek a degree in the medical field.
The health department is located at 609 S. Main Street in Gallatin.
