The Winston Village Board of Trustees appointed Tim Caldwell to fill the open seat on the board during their meeting held May 7. The clerk administered the Oath of Office to Mr. Caldwell, after which he took his seat for the remainder of the one year term, until the next regular municipal election.
Banking signatures were authorized as follows: Arvella Eaton, Chair; Brenda Goll, Chair Pro Tem; Nichole Gregornik, Trustee; Tim Caldwell, Trustee; and Amber White, Clerk.
A resident approached the board to try to discontinue trash service at his home. He stated he only lived in his home part-time and didn’t think he should have to pay for a service he doesn’t use. The board apologized and explained the village ordinances, in which it is mandatory for every resident who receives sewer service to have trash service.
The board approved the income and expense report.
The utilities clerk distributed a new list of delinquent customers, including nine due for shutoff. The clerk reported two move-ins and two move-outs.
Melvin McFee reported everything was working properly, as far as sewer maintenance, and there are no new problems. He stated he changed a pump out and discharged the lagoon this month.
Quentin Hunt told the board of a couple of letters in regards to ordinance enforcement need to be sent out to residents.
Tracy Filley informed the board of the work he performed on the streets, and what he will continue to work on.
The board was informed that the water needs to be turned on at the park before cleanup and maintenance can be performed. The clerk is to turn the water on the following week.
The village clerk informed the board that financial statements had been filed with the state auditor.
During board comments, Nichole Gregornik asked the board to change the time of the regular board meetings so board members can get home earlier. After discussion, the board voted to change the meeting from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, June 4.
