Reliving the same trip 27 years later, Lee Rogers (GHS 1996) visited his older brother Vince Rogers (GHS 1984) in Rome, Italy, where they recreated several of the same photos in locations around the ancient city. The brothers are the sons of Madelynn and Steve Adkison of Jameson and the late Bob Rogers of Gallatin.

Both brothers have been busy since leaving Gallatin. Vince, a Catholic priest and pastor of St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Gladstone, is completing a six-month sabbatical which includes time in Rome where he spent five years in the early 1990s in the seminary.
Lee is a podiatric surgeon, author, and public speaker who now lives in Las Vegas. Lee founded a network of Amputation Prevention Centers in 2009 and stopped his clinical practice two years ago. Lee has given speeches in all 50 states and about 30 countries and sets up systems for limb salvage for those with diabetes.
After revisiting some of the Roman ruins over 2000 years old, the brothers took time to travel to Egypt to visit the 4500-year-old pyramids of Giza and view papyrus with hieroglyphics from the era.
Aside from aging physically, friends and classmates would probably still recognize the brothers’ senses of humor, propensity to joke around, wit, and compassion for people. It was their mother who found the 27-year-old pictures and suggested they recreate the images. Of course, Vince and Lee accepted the challenge.
Vince is pictured at Circus Maximus. Lee is at the Roman Forum.
