Pattonsburg Superintendent Scott Ireland gave the election results and administered the oath of office to new school board members Brian Teel and incumbent Lyle Hoover during the April 18 meeting of the R-2 Board of Education.

New board was appointed as follows: Jason Teel – President; Stephanie Mason – Vice President; Lyle Hoover–Secretary; and Laura Booth – Treasurer.
Resignations were accepted from Leslie Price, fourth grade teacher; Amanda Roger, Special Ed. Director; and Dayna Oliver, Special Ed. teacher.
A motion carried to hire Larry Popplewell as full-time custodian.
Elementary Principal, McCrary, and High School Principal, Harding, gave their building report.
Pam Plymell was thanked for her time and dedication as serving on the board of the Pattonsburg School District for six years, noting that her hard work and dedication has had a great influence to the school and community.
Kim Fish, the High School Spanish Teacher, presented to the board the three Spanish films that were in the Foreign Film Festival. The Spanish II class film “The Black Room” was awarded first place mystery, first place movie, second place use of technology, and third place in all movies. The Spanish I class film “The Script” was awarded first place comedy; second place movie; first place script; third place use of technology; and best comedy over all movies and languages.
Superintendent Ireland reported that Missouri Educators Trust will increase the health insurance by 8.4% and a motion carried to stay with Missouri Educators Trust for the 2018-2019 school year.
The board entered into executive session to discuss personnel, student matters, and legal issues.
