­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Michael D. Dryer of Bella Vista, AR, was arrested after he fled the scene of an accident at the 82 mile marker (mm) on I-35 around 12:24 p.m. on April 26.

According to the probable cause statement, Dryer, 41, had left the accident and was speeding southbound on I-35. A radar check showed his vehicle to be traveling at 105 mph in a 70 mph zone when Trooper M. Neely located him. Trooper Neely initiated a traffic stop at the 65 mm. Dryer’s vehicle nearly struck a guard rail when he pulled over. Dryer was arrested at 12:48 p.m. for leaving the scene of an accident, DWI, speeding, failure to signal, and failure to maintain financial responsibility, all misdemeanors. Dryer was convicted of DWI in South Carolina in 2000. Bond is set at $3,000.

The sheriff’s office received a call from concerned citizen regarding the sheriff’s incident report in the newspaper. The individual was advised that the incident report does not contain routine patrol activities, traffic stops, or serving criminal and civil papers.

7:34 am – Black cow out on Highway P one mile east of Highway K. Owner notified.

9 am – Brandon Pooler, 17, Altamont, was charged with four counts felony D of tampering with a motor vehicle and stealing. Bond is set at $35,000.

12:10 pm – Daviess County Deputy out at Winston Post Office for report of vandalism.

11:33 pm – Daviess County deputy assisted in report of female assaulted by driver of semi truck she was travelling in.  Took female to Winston truck stop. Medical attention was refused. No charges filed by either party.

12:54 pm – Rita Lou Smith, 40, Moberly, turned herself in to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office on a Randolph County warrant on original charge of possession of controlled substance.  She was transported to Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail (DDCRJ) to await extradition to Randolph County.

1:07 pm – Cow out at CC & Quartz. Owner notified.

4:16 pm – Report of two bales of hay in road at first entrance into Jamesport

0:05 am – Daviess County Deputy assisting traffic stop at Highway 6, Main Street, in Altamont.

6:48 am – Daviess County deputy assisting with report of vandalism to Pattonsburg gas station.

12:48 pm – Michael D. Dryer, 41, Bella Vista, AR, was arrested and sent to DDCRJ. He is charged with misdemeanors of leaving the scene of a crash, DWI and exceeding posted speed limit. Bond is set at $3,000.

7:08 pm – Caller reported finding bag of marijuana at river access. Daviess County Deputy responding.

10:20 am – Report of black cow out on Highway EE and Prairie. Owner contacted.

4-28-18

8:42 am – Daviess County Deputy responding to call that a canine was struck by vehicle on I-35 at the 81 MM.

8:49 am – Canine was removed and owners were notified of above.

9:46 am – Daviess County Deputy responding to report of deer that needs to be removed from Highway 6 and West Grand.

4:20 pm – Report of possible intoxicated driver heading toward CC Highway from Altamont.

4:46 pm – Vehicle from above call was found with blown tire. Driver of vehicle has left the scene.

5:50 pm – Daviess County Deputy responding to a domestic disturbance that was happening in Altamont involving driver from earlier referenced calls.

7:05 pm – Jareld D. Curtis Sr., 47, Altamont, was arrested and transported to DDCRJ and charged with assault 3rd degree, leaving the scene, DWI, failure to register and maintaining financial responsibility. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only.

11:47 pm – Out at Gallatin High School for senior prom lock down.

4-29-18

00:12 am – Report of vehicle vs. deer on CC. Driver and vehicle okay.

1:44 am – Out at Gallatin High School for prom lock-in.

9:51 am – Daviess County deputies and K-9 out at vehicle search on I-35 SB at the 62 MM.

11:31 am – Raylow Redell Canada, 27, Des Moines, IA, arrested and transported to DDCRJ, charged with misdemeanor of failure to proceed with caution/yield right of way. Bond $300.

8:12 pm – Daviess County deputies assisting Pattonsburg Fire Department with out of control grass fire, Highway VV north of Highway DD.

8:43 pm – Above referenced fire under control.

4-30-18

6:23 am – Report of vehicle break-in and wallet stolen from Pattonsburg.

11:45 am – Report of ladder in road on Highway 6. Removed.
