Last week, the NWMSU Department of Agriculture announced the twenty-four Precision Agriculture Academy Members for 2018. Tayton Terry from Gallatin was selected as a member for the summer time academy and program.
The Agrivision Equipment Group Precision Agriculture Summer Academy is designed to introduce high school students to the ever-changing world of precision agriculture technologies. Utilizing hands-on activities with state-of-the-art equipment, while partnering and networking with industry professionals, students and agricultural educators will advance their knowledge in precision agriculture technologies.
Students will explore the use of global positioning systems (GPS), auto-guidance technology, precision application, remote sensing, geographic information systems and data collection and management.
Tayton will earn a scholarship that covers his costs to the academy from NWMSU and partners of the academy.
