The 90th Missouri State FFA Convention was a successful one for Gallatin FFA members. The chapter received a Superior Rating in State, but member successes were the highlight.
Chapter member and newly elected Area II Secretary Addison Burns won her proficiency award area, Plant Science Research Systems, and will now compete at Nationals.

Officer Team: Graydee Rains, Addison Burns, Jacob Wilson, Jessica Hart, Macie McNeely, Gloria Hernandez, Tayton Terry, Bethany Bailey
Megan Cox, Graydee Rains, Declan Schweizer, and Shaunessy Eaton all were area winners in their respective proficiency areas.
The Dairy Foods team was 11th in state, earning a Group I Rating.
Owen Schweizer and Megan Cox both earned Group I Individual Ratings.
The Horse Judging Team placed 17th in State and was a Group II Team with Morgan Glidewell earning a Group I Individual Rating.
Hayden Jumps’ Beginning Placement Record book earned a state medal as well.
Forestry was a Group II Team. Floriculture, Entomology, and FFA Knowledge were Group III teams.
Macie McNeely was selected to perform in the State FFA Choir. She performed at the 3rd and 4th general sessions to nearly 10,000 members and guests.
The highlight of convention was Megan Cox and Colin Beck being awarded the state’s highest honor, the State FFA Degree.
Members will be presented with more awards and honors at the Chapter FFA Banquet on May 3 at 6 p.m. All members, parents, alumni, supporters, and guests are welcome to attend.
