James Lewis, road and bridge supervisor, met with commissioners regarding road issues. Crews have been working on tubes in Grand River Township this week. Crews will be delivering tubes in Harrison Township later this week. The commissioners went over a BEEP study on Bridge 430 with James.

Bills were approved.

Darryl Wilkinson met with the commission to discuss guttering issues at the county building which houses Gallatin Publishing Company.

Sheriff Ben Becerra and Recorder Jane McKinsey presented 2018 training certificates to the commission.

J.L. McFee, grader operator, met with the commission regarding road issues in Sheridan Township.

Assessor Sally Black met with the commission in regards to working with Daviess County Soil and Water Conservation on GIS mapping. It was decided to leave the policy as it currently is.  Discussion was also held about computer issues still occurring in the assessor’s office. Discussion was also held regarding ATVs and UTVs not being turned in on personal property assessment sheets.

Bill Haggard, mower operator, met with the commission to update them on progress and issues throughout the county relating to brush and culverts.

J.D. Dowell called in to speak to the commission regarding a road issue in Sheridan Township.

David Cox is still working on the Solid Waste Board Appointment. David asked LEPC to help with finding someone that would want to serve on this board. The issue was tabled until next week.

Wayne Uthe is still working on the GHRPC Road Safety Projects. The issue was tabled until next week.

James Lewis, road and bridge supervisor, and Pam Howard, circuit clerk, met with the commission to discuss the Personal Time Off (PTO) policy for Daviess County. Wayne Uthe made a motion to raise the accrual of PTO for all full-time employees to 10 hours per month, with 28-day employees and part-time over 1,000 hours employees being prorated accordingly. Aye – 3; No – 0; motion passed. The new policy will be effective with the May pay periods. An update of the current personnel policy manual is scheduled for May 2.

After lunch the commissioners toured roads, bridges and culverts in Sheridan Township.

Circuit Court

A sentencing hearing was held for Kyle J. Mason on April 17 before Judge Daren Adkins. On a C felony charge of receiving stolen property, Mason was sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections, execution of sentence suspended, and five years probation.

Associate Division

Defendants found guilty in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County are listed below with the offense and fine assessed. Additionally, court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $68.50 for moving traffic violations and $116.50 in most criminal cases. Judge Daren L.
