Robert Vessar, 29, Hamilton, has been charged with second degree murder and DWI-aggravated after Dallas J. Allen of Pattonsburg was fatally injured in an ATV accident that occurred in Winston at 6:54 p.m. on April 2. Vessar received moderate injuries, and a 10-year-old girl received minor injuries in the crash.

Vessar was driving a 2004 Yamaha Raptor east on Highway 6. Allen, 30, was also eastbound on Highway 6 driving a Polaris Sportsman, with his 10-year-old daughter as a passenger. When Vessar slowed to make a left turn, Allen struck the rear of his vehicle. Both vehicles overturned and all occupants were ejected.

Vessar was placed under arrest by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for felony DWI at 7:32 p.m., and he was transported to the Cameron Regional Medical Center. Upon his release, he was transported to the Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail.

According to the probable cause statement, computer checks showed Vessar’s driving privilege was revoked, one active point revocation and one active five-year denial for driving while intoxicated. He had been convicted of DWI in 2016 in both Clinton County and in DeKalb County. Bond is set at $100,000 cash only.

10 am – Noah McCrary, 26, Gallatin, was arrested on a probation violation warrant on original charges of domestic assault. McCrary was transferred to DDCRJ on $5,000 bond.

2:50 pm – Charges were filed on Robert Vessar, 29, Hamilton. Vessar was arrested after an ATV accident on April 2.  He has been charged with murder second degree, class A felony, DWI-aggravated, class

D felony, and traffic offenses. Bond is set at $100,000 cash only.

11 pm – Robert Anderson, 41, Bethany, was arrested in Harrison County and transferred to DDCRJ on a Daviess County warrant for FTA on misdemeanor passing bad checks. Bond is $450.
