Stan Wolfe with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) presented the water plant final bond closing documents for the mayor and city clerk to sign during the April 9 meeting of the Gallatin Board of Aldermen.
Public Works Director Mark Morey reported that city crews have been busy with the new water plant. Recently operators met with engineers from Snyder & Associates to walk through the plant and review processes of going live with the new plant. There have been a few minor adjustments to the aerator in order for it to operate properly.
The majority of the gravel roads in the city have been graded, but rock needs to be added, once weather permits.
City Clerk Hattie Bailey read the official certificate of election results of the April 3 municipal election. East Ward Alderman John Whitfield received 64 votes, and West Ward Alderman Dan Lockridge received 61 votes.
The old board was retired and new board members were sworn in. Hattie Bailey was appointed as city treasurer.
The March transaction report was accepted.
Bills in the amount of $127,490.16 were approved for payment.
The board reviewed the March 2018 Financial Review.
Ross Construction’s Pay App #14 in the amount of $79,011.82 was accepted.
Change Order No. 7 for the water plant in the amount of $25,753.00 was accepted, and Snyder’s invoice 112.0059.11-31 in the amount of $22,421.98 was approved.
The gluten free bakery is considering a few business opportunities before they can provide a business plan to move the bakery to the cupola building in Gallatin.
