Gallatin’s Community Good Friday service was sponsored by the Gallatin Ministerial Alliance on March 30, and was well attended by members of various local denominations.

Pastor Wayne Smith of the First Assembly of God Church presented the message. The community choir, directed by Linda Arnold, presented special music “Power of the Cross” and “Victory.” Sue Bird was the organist and pianist.
Pastor Robert Nelson of the Lake Viking Church reported on the activities of the Ministerial Alliance. From Nov. 19, 2017 to March 29, 2018, the alliance was able to help 16 individuals, families and local ministries. The alliance supports community organizations, such as the Active Aging Resource Center, fire department, and the Life Light evangelistic concert, to name a few. They offer assistance to those in need by providing for a safe night’s rest in a motel, food, utilities, medicine, gasoline and gifts to those in crisis, such as a house fire.
The Ministerial Alliance opening balance on Nov. 17, 2017, was $659.56, followed by a single deposit of $2,756.65 (donations from the annual community-wide Thanksgiving service), for a total of $3,416.21. They made $3,178 in expenditures, leaving a balance of $238.21 in the account on March 29, 2018.
According to Treasurer Mike Tipton, the offering at the Good Friday Service was $2,878, “quite a blessing,” as he says.
