I am Becky Caldwell, the Regional Ombudsman Manager for Northwest Missouri Area Agency on Aging. We currently serve 86 licensed long term care facilities in Northwest Missouri. Our service area includes 18 counties, covering 9,274 square miles.

To adequately serve this area, we are currently in need of some Ombudsman

volunteers who inform residents in long term care facilities of their rights and serve as an advocate for them. Ombudsman volunteers may serve as an investigator, mediator, liaison and educator for residents, their families, communities, or the facility, wherever they are needed.

The Ombudsman (meaning citizen representative) works to resolve individual problems and provide immediate assistance to residents. The ultimate goal is to have residents and citizens of the community advocate for improved quality of care in their facilities and to solve problems as soon as possible.

If you would be interested in learning more about becoming an Ombudsman

volunteer, please contact me or Robin Williams, Regional Ombudsman,

at 660-240-9400, toll free 855-205-7520, or email me at

Thank you.

Becky Caldwell
