The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the principal of Southwest Livingston County R-1 School District in Ludlow for allegedly stealing prescription medications from a locked medicine cabinet. The school’s nurse, who had been monitoring the medications according to protocol, reported Percocet and Adderall as missing.
Christopher Scott Calhoun, 44, was charged with two counts of felony stealing. He has been incarcerated in the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail and his bond set at $10,000 cash.
Calhoun was placed on leave from the school. His preliminary hearing is March 28 in the Livingston County Courthouse before Judge James Paul Valbracht..
The Southwest Livingston Co. R-1 School District released a statement on their facebook site saying they were fully cooperating in the investigation. The statement noted that at no time was the safety and security of the district’s students at risk.
