The BQ chapter of P.E.O. in Gallatin, has announced a recipient for the P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education (PCE) grant.
Ms. Kayce Terhune of Gallatin was recommended by the BQ chapter and was awarded a grant to assist with her educational needs.
Established in 1973, the P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education (PCE) presents need-based grants to women in the United States and Canada whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to support themselves and/or their families. Ms. Terhune met all of the criteria for the grant.
P.E.O. is the Philanthropic Educational Organization, established in 1869 at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. It has evolved into one of the largest community based organizations with nearly 6,000 chapters and almost a quarter of a million members.
The cumulative amount of assistance provided to recipients through the six P.E.O. philanthropies is more than $280 million.
