The Daviess County Soil & Water Conservation District Supervisor election for Area 2 and Area 4 will be held Thursday, March 15, at the USDA Service Center, 209 Ash Street, Gallatin. Polls will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Incumbent Trevor Clark, Area 2 Supervisor, represents Washington, Lincoln, Grand River, and Jamesport Townships. Mr. Clark is unopposed in the election. Incumbent Don Tolen, Area 4 Supervisor, represents Union, Jackson, Monroe, and Harrison Townships. Mr. Tolen is unopposed in the election.
Supervisors serve a four-year term and are elected by a majority vote of the county’s land representatives under rules and policies formulated by the Soil and Water District Commission. An eligible land representative of an SWCD, as defined in 10 CSR 70-2.020, 1C may vote in any SWCD supervisor election held within that particular SWCD. A farm owned by a firm or corporation may be represented by one vote cast by one land representative so authorized by the firm or corporation. A farm owned by a partnership, or jointly by a husband and wife, may be represented by two land representatives.
