Winston seeks mowing bids

The Winston Village Board of Trustees agreed to advertise mowing bids for two weeks in order to receive sealed bids for the next meeting.
The income and expense report was approved.
The utilities clerk distributed a new list of delinquent customers, including nine due for shutoff.
Melvin McFee reported everything was working properly as far as sewer maintenance, and there are no new problems.
Ordinance Enforcement Officer Quentin Hunt informed the board of many ordinance violations he noticed throughout the village. The clerk is to send out violation letters to residents in order to get the matters resolved. Mr. Hunt also informed the board of vandalism to park bathrooms and offered ideas to keep people out during winter months. The board decided to speak more about the issue during the next meeting.
Chairman Arvella Eaton informed the board that a resident approached her wanting to discontinue trash service due to their lack of use. After board discussion and review of current ordinances, the board had to obey village ordinance’s which requires all residents to pay for trash service.
The next board meeting is scheduled for March 5 at 7 p.m.
