The Tigers hit seven three-pointers in the first half but took advantage of fast breaks and second-chance opportunities in the second half to put away the Bulldogs, 80-56, and advance to the semifinals against Stanberry. Plattsburg took care of the ball with only six turnovers over the course of 42 minutes, while Gallatin committed six give-aways during a critical five minute stretch of the third quarter.
The Tigers stretched a 57-40 third quarter to 76-48 with 4:18 left to play. The final horn sounded with GHS seniors Jett Simmons, Colin Beck, Gabe Cole, Blaine Bailey and Logan Burns on the floor in their final appearances in a Bulldog uniform.
Simmons paced the Bulldogs with 20 points and finished the season with a team-high 514 points.
Cole tacked on 14 for the Bulldogs, who saw their season end at 9-15.
