University of Missouri Extension will be holding our fifth annual S.A.L.E. Conference in St. Joseph, on Saturday, March 10. S.A.L.E. stands for Small Acreage & Land Entrepreneurs.
The meeting will be held on the campus of Missouri Western State University, and starts at 8:30 with registration.
The conference is geared toward landowners who are looking for ways to generate income from their land. We try to find topics of interest for both plant and animal-based enterprises.
This year, presentations will include topics such as permaculture, beekeeping, growing blackberries & raspberries, timber sales, financial resources for small farms, growing mushrooms, pollinators, pruning fruit trees, invasive weeds, native plants, livestock, and many more.
The cost for the conference, which includes lunch, will be $40 per person if received by Friday, March 2. After March 2, or at the door, the cost will be $60. Youth (18 and under) pay only $25 if pre-registered by March 2, or $30 at the door.
