Dr. Bryan Copple, Gallatin R-5 superintendent, received a check from Phil Tate for $237 to help continue local Bright Futures Gallatin efforts. Mr. Tate recently won Gallatin Rotary Club’s member drawing and designated the money be donated to the Bright Futures Gallatin fund.

Bright Futures is a grassroots organization that enables schools to engage businesses, human service agencies, faith-based organizations and parent groups to rally together to meet the needs of their children. This framework partners organizations with schools in a way that helps them to quickly and efficiently meet students’ basic needs, often within 24 hours.
Since beginning in the fall, student needs met include: toiletry items, Christmas food and gifts, shoes, an instrument for band, socks, underwear, coats, hats, and gloves.
The Bright Futures fund is considered an emergency fund and is used as a “last resort” if there is a large need (due to a catastrophic event such as a fire) or for needs not met through existing donations.
