The Daviess County Spelling Bee will be held at 4 p.m. on Feb. 13 in the Searcy Elementary gym in Gallatin. The bee was postponed from Feb. 6, due to bad weather.
In addition to the Gallatin students listed below, there will also be students from North Daviess, Winston and Pattonsburg competing. Winners will head for the Regional Bee on March 3 in St. Joseph.
The Gallatin Spelling Bee winners who will compete Feb. 13 are as follows:
5th grade, Payton Ishmael, son of Aaron and Ashley Ishmael;
5th grade, Trinity Asher, daughter of Robert Asher and Megan Asher;
5th grade alternate, James Tucker, son of Jimmy and Lora Tucker;
6th grade, Mischa Steele, daughter of Michael and Colette Steele;
6th grade, Hannah Critten, daughter of Lance and Angela Critten;
6th grade alternate, Keegan McBroom, son of Kerry McBroom and Laura Hoyle;
7th grade, Hadley Jumps, daughter of Rustin and Shelly Jumps;
7th grade, Addison Riley, daughter of Steven and Monica Riley;
7th alternate, Elle Copple, daughter of Bryan and Ronda Copple;
8th grade, Rebekah Flanders, daughter of Joseph and Joyce Flanders;
8th grade, Olivia Woody, daughter of Belinda Woody;
8th grade alternate, Brianna Filley, daughter of Steven and Julia Filley.
