Anthony C. Brown, Plattsburg, was found guilty by jury in Daviess County on Sept. 7, 2017, in a change of venue case from Clinton County. He was sentenced by Judge Daren Adkins on Jan. 23, 2018, as follows: two B felony counts of possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver, 5 years Department of Corrections (DOC) on each count; unclassified felony of armed criminal action, 3 years DOC; possession of defaced firearm, B misdemeanor, 6 months jail; C felony of receiving stolen property, 5 years DOC, sentences to run consecutively to each count and any other sentences being served. He was ordered to complete a 120-day shock treatment program per Section 559.115.3. After the treatment program, a report will be made to the court to determine if probation should be granted. The charges stemmed from an incident in Plattsburg on Aug. 21, 2016, in which Brown threatened his ex-girlfriend and her brother with a handgun.
Circuit Court
Before Judge Thomas Chapman on Jan. 24, Andrew Adkison, Jameson, was granted dissolution of marriage from Courtney Adkison, Winston.
Cases bound over from the Associate Division: State vs. Susan S. Phelps, Cocoa, Fla., abuse of neglect of child resulting in death, class A felony; State vs. William Donoven Reynolds, Gallatin, no valid license, E felony, failure to register vehicle, B misdemeanor, failed to maintain financial responsibility, D misdemeanor; State vs. James D. White, Cameron, assault third degree, E felony.
Civil cases filed: Department of Revenue Collections Enforcement vs. Levi J. Rainey, et al, certificate of lien, DOR, taxes.

Additionally, court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $68.50 for moving traffic violations and $116.50 in most criminal cases. Judge Daren L. Marc L. Atchley, Novinger, driving while intoxicated, 10 days jail, board bill paid by defendant.

Breach of contract: Change of venue granted in Cavalry SPV vs. Shirley M. Higgins.
Suits on account: Change of venue granted in Capital one Bank vs. James W. Harris. Default judgments were entered for Capital One Bank and against Elizabeth Sanders; and for Portfolio Recovery Associates LLC and against Gibson Bott.
Contract/Account: A default judgment was entered for Ford Motor Credit Company LLC and against Tammy King, et al.
Rent and possession: A default judgment was entered for David Ayres and against Kamdon Goll, et al.
County Commission
James Lewis, road and bridge supervisor, met with the commissioners. James is still assisting MoDOT with bridge inspections.
Tim Baker, MU Extension, met with the commissioners to take photos for an upcoming publication.
Discussion was held regarding a section of 105th Street in Colfax Township. Commissioners will contact the township.
Wayne Uthe made a motion to accept Order 2018-1, which is adopting the Nation Incident Management System (NIMS) as the standard for incident management by the County of Daviess. David Cox seconded; all in favor. Motion passed.
David Roll, emergency management director, met with the commissioners to finalize his contract for 2018. The commission signed the emergency management director contract.
Commissioners attended the LEPC meeting and Hazmat table top exercise during lunch.
In the afternoon, Randy Sims and Wayne Uthe checked on a road in Colfax Township.
