Milan, with only one loss on the season to Trenton, which came in league play, nailed down the West title with a 60-47 victory. Gallatin, eighth place finisher in the Eastern Division of the league, will travel to Albany on Friday to take on the Warriors, who did not win a game on their West Division schedule.
Milan will travel to North Andrew on Friday to contest the overall league championship.
A three-pointer by Jett Simmons, one of four from the Bulldogs’ leading scorer, put Gallatin in front, 12-10, early in Tuesday’s contest, but the Wildcats would own a 28-19 advantage by half time. Milan spread the lead to 44-30 after three periods and cruised to the wire.
Simmons canned 26 points by converting 9-of-14 shots from the field and all four free throw attempts. Gabe Cole notched eight points for the Bulldogs. Colin Beck pulled down 10 rebounds, including nine on the defensive end.
The Bulldogs take on King City next Tuesday on the road and will face Albany again on Friday of next week.
