David Lainhart was appointed to complete the term for the open position of board member for the North Daviess R-3 Board of Education during a meeting of the school board held Jan. 15.

Three people have signed up for the board positions for the election that will be held on April 3. They are David Lainhart, Amy McMahon, and Paul Caven.
A superintendent’s contract was extended to Daniel Street for the next school year.
The senior trip was approved. The students will go to Omaha, Neb., taking in attractions that will include the Henry Doorly Zoo, Joslyn Art Museum and Majestic Theater.
High School Principal Kelly Hightree reported enrollment was at 83 this month with four in preschool, 47 in elementary, and 32 in high school, for an overall 94.12%.
Music students attended the HDC Band Day and Band Tour Day. FFA attended the Greenhand Day at North Central Missouri College.
Superintendent Dan Street reported he was in contact with ‘Education SuperHighway’ for internet options.
The blower motor on the second floor furnace was replaced this month.
An executive session was held.
Next board meeting was set for Feb. 19, 2018, in the conference room.
