David Cox moved to increase all existing on-board hourly employees $1 per hour. Wayne Uthe seconded. Motion carried.

Carmelo Hernandez, custodian, discussed the replacement of a radiator for the associate court’s office.

James Lewis, road and bridge supervisor, updated commissioners on signage replacement for the county. They will be assisting with the replacement and removal of a radiator in the courthouse. James is still assisting MoDOT with the bridge inspections.

Commissioners signed the 2019 Local Records Grant for the county clerk’s office.

Pam McNeel, treasurer-collector, discussed renewal of a certificate of deposit.

Commissioners discussed the 2018 budget with the assessor, coroner and sheriff.

Commissioners viewed roads in Liberty, Jefferson, and Jamesport Townships.

Commissioners signed the 2018-2019 Assessment Maintenance Plan for the assessor.

Assessor’s Office

The assessor reminds taxpayers that all licensed, unlicensed and permanent plated items must be included on your assessment sheet. This includes RTVs, ATVs, and UTVs, which must be reported even though they are not licensed.

Residents who have not received an assessment sheet should call the assessor’s office at 660-663-3300 or 663-2240. Sheets must be returned to the office by March 1. The staff is here to help residents who have questions or need help filling out their sheets.

Circuit Court

Nacole Jones, Albany, plead guilty to amended charges on Jan. 17 before Judge Thomas Chapman. Jones and another subject were involved in a rollover crash of a stolen vehicle on I-35 in March 2016. She was sentenced to one year in jail, execution of sentence suspended, for tampering with motor vehicle, A misdemeanor amended from a felony. She was also ordered to serve 22 days shock jail time and fined $100. For receiving stolen property, A misdemeanor amended from a felony, she received a suspended imposition of sentence and two years probation.
