In other business during the meeting held Jan. 18, the R-5 Board of Education accepted the resignation letter for retirement from Sheri Steinman, special education teacher at the middle school. Ms. Steinman will retire at the end of the school year.

Harris Cameron was offered the position of assistant boys/girls track coach.

The school calendar was approved.

The 2017 Annual Performance Report was reviewed.

A closed session was held.

Next school board meeting is Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m.

Board members present were Jesse Bird, Tim Bradford, Trent Dowell, Bill Irby, Jeffrey Donovan, and Amy Heldenbrand. Brice Terry was absent. Also in attendance were Dr. Copple, Principals Burke, Otto and Cox, Special Education Director Morris, Activities Director Gann, Counselor Joyce Cox and Board Secretary Swopes.
