Funeral services for Allen Bartlett will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at the First Baptist Church in Raytown (Connection Point Church), 10500 East State Route 350, Raytown, Mo. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, at Park Lawn Funeral Home. Allen Ray Bartlett, 79, of Belton, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday morning, Jan. 19, 2018, at his home.

Allen was a devoted husband, father, pastor, mentor and friend.

He was born May 9, 1938, in Ellington, Mo., to Richard Thurman and Lucille Bartlett, and was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Alice, his wife of 58 years, son, Randall Allen, daughter, Joy Lee Dean, and her husband, Ken, his brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of others he mentored and shepherded throughout his life.

Allen was a beloved pastor. He served seven churches throughout Missouri, and many more as an interim following his retirement. He also served many capacities at the Missouri Baptist Convention, Hannibal LaGrange University, and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Allen served at Gallatin First Baptist from 1990-2000.

Allen and Alice also led marriage conferences across the state for over 20 years.

Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and his bird dogs.
