Doris A. Lynch 80 of Gallatin passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Daviess County Nursing and Rehab. Services will be held at 11am Saturday, January 20 at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin.  Visitation is 1-hour prior to service. Burial will be at the Centenary Cemetery near Gallatin.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Centenary Cemetery in care of McWilliams Funeral Home.

Doris was born April 4, 1937 the daughter of Clarence and Bernice (Miller) Lynch in Gallatin, MO, where she lived her entire life.  She graduated from Gallatin High School in 1954 and began her working career for her sister, Colene at the Bonnie Bird Café in Gallatin.  Doris worked there for a brief period of time before taking a position at the Bank of Gallatin where she was the bookkeeper; she was a dedicated employee and her attention to detail made her a perfect fit for the position, she was employed there for over 15 years.  She was also the dispatcher for the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department and later became the bookkeeper for the Gallatin Lumber Company; she worked many years there before retiring.  Doris enjoyed serving the public and always did what it took to get the job done right. She was a perfectionist in every sense of the word.

Doris was a longtime devoted member of the Assembly of God Church in Gallatin.  She greatly enjoyed the fellowship she shared with her church family, when called upon was always eager to help in anyway.  She was a wonderful cook and was well known around the neighborhood for her baked goods, she enjoyed sharing her goodies with family and friends.  Doris greatly enjoyed spending time with her longtime companion Harold King.  She looked forward to the time they would go for a drive to Jamesport and enjoy some homemade strawberry ice cream.  Doris was a kind and gentle lady who was committed to a lifelong journey serving her family and community. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Arnold and Don Lynch, nephew, David Leach, and her longtime companion, Harold King.

Doris is survived by her sister; Colene Davis of Chillicothe, nephews, Marvin (Jana) Lee, of Gallatin, Carl (Judy) Leach, Chillicothe, niece; Shawn Dickson of Trenton, Many great nephews and Nieces.
