Pictured are the winners of the Daviess County Library’s NASA@mylibrary essay contest. The “Expanding My Universe” contest was a great success, according to Library Director Allison Spidle. These children took on reading lists chock full of space science, biographies of important NASA figures past and present, basics of astrophysics, and more. Participant essays highlighted increased interest in math, science, human rights, and plans to seek higher education. Winners: first prize $100 Amazon gift card Abigail Rahm, second prize $50 Amazon gift card Kerri Hopkins, third prize $25 Amazon gift card Lyndsey King. The Gallatin Rotary Club sponsored the contest.
