Female high school graduates from Caldwell County will now have the opportunity to compete for a $500 to the school of their choice with the announcement of a new college scholarship. Christa Horne, American Family Insurance agent in Hamilton, will award the new scholarship beginning this spring to a female graduate from any of the four Caldwell County high schools.
Female graduates from Penney of Hamilton, Braymer, Breckenridge and Polo will be able to submit an application via the Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri ScholarLink program and compete for the $500 award which may be used for college tuition or for books or fees at any community college, four-year college or university. Applicants must be in pursuit of a college education with an emphasis in business or a related field.
Mrs. Horne says she would like for the honoree to be goal driven and aspire to change the world, even if on a small level.
Interested applicants should contact their respective high school counselors or Mrs. Horne in the Hamilton office. The deadline for submitting an application is March 1, 2018.
