Upon arrival, a one-story wood-framed dwelling was found with fire on the south outside wall and smoke coming out of the roof vents. A 1 3/4-inch hose line was deployed for extinguishment. The fire was extinguished on the outside wall; it extended from the ground level all the way up to the eaves. Firefighters opened the wall from the foundation all the way up to the attic on the outside and inside of the house to check for fire extension. The fire was completely out at 2:17 p.m.
The fire was contained to the wall of origin and found to be caused by a discarded cigarette. The house is owned by Tony Moore. Fire crews released from the scene at approximately 3:47 p.m.
