The center has a new roof and a new dishwasher.

The original roof was over 20 years old. BTC Bank of Pattonsburg donated $10,000 toward installation of the new metal roof.

The dishwasher had been leased and required monthly payments. Now the center has its own CMA commercial dishwasher thanks to donations from businesses and individuals in the community.

The cost of the roof was $12,600 and the cost of the dishwasher was $3,235, for a total of $15,835 for both projects.

The center’s administrator, Cheryl Cornett, said two of the multi-purpose board members were instrumental in securing funds, Brian Teel and Cassie Manion.

“I want to thank everyone in the community,” said Ms. Cornett. “Without their help, this never would have happened.”

Mrs. Cornett wrote a grant and received $500 from Summit Natural Gas. Others contributing to the roof and dishwasher were Rob’s Cycle, Rennee Rouse, Bess Ann Photography, Pattonsburg Community Betterment, Pattonsburg Chamber of Commerce, Pattonsburg Volunteer Fire Department, Joe Arutz with Cameron Regional Hospital, Timber Wolf Construction, Jeff Read, South View Farms, and Brown Lumber. Other donations made toward general needs for the center were from Cameron Regional Medical Center Foundation and GFG Ag Services.

“I also want to thank our volunteers who help with the day-to-day needs of the center, everything from serving on the board to helping with fundraisers to delivering meals,” said Ms. Cornett. “We are blessed to live in this community.”
