James Boyd Love, 72, of Chillicothe, Mo., passed away Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City.
James was born June 22, 1945, in Gallatin, the son of Manford Nelson Love and Josephine Sharp Love. He attended Gallatin schools.
In 1965 he married Marilyn Sue McCoy at St. Columban’s Catholic Church in Chillicothe. She preceded him in death on Sept. 14, 2006.
James worked as a leather cutter at Midwest Glove Factory in Chillicothe and as a line operator at Dura Automotive in Chillicothe.
He was a member of St. Columban’s Catholic Church.
James enjoyed woodworking, crafts and taking care of his yard, but most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by a daughter, Lisa (Harold Jr.) Manning of Chillicothe; son Jason (Rhoda) Love of Leavenworth, Kan.; three grandchildren, Aaron (Samantha) Manning, Audrie Manning, and Kyler Manning all of Chillicothe; a great-granddaughter, Bella Manning of Chillicothe; brother Galen (Judy) Love of Cameron, Mo.; two brothers-in-law Kevin (Brenda) McCoy of Lindsborg, Kan., and Dennis McCoy of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; three sisters and three brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Jim Love may be made to the Grand River Multi- Purpose Center and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe Mo., 64601. On line condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com.
Burial will be at St. Columban’s Cemetery at a later date.
