He was born on February 8, 1940 in Pattonsburg, MO the son of Earl and Georgia (Bruner) Bridgman.
Gene graduated from Pattonsburg High School in 1958. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Mae Morris on May 9, 1958 in Pattonsburg, MO and they were married for 59 years.
Gene and Charlotte had one daughter, Vicky Jean.
He retired from IBM Tool & Gauge, Tusco, AZ as an inspector in 1995 and also worked for the Pattonsburg Cap Factory.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Fred and Ethel Bridgman and Russel and Fannie Bruner; and sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Glen Hampton.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte of the home; daughter, Vicky Jean; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Helen Bozarth, Jim and Pat Morris; nieces and nephews, Steve (Betty) Hampton, Glennice (Keith) Moore, Becky Hampton, Helen (Chris) McDaniel, Richard (Kathy) Morris, Jack (Karen) Morris, Jim (Eileen) Morris; several great nieces and nephews; four uncles, Johnny (Carol) Bruner, Roger (Brenda) Bruner, Gayle (Harriett) Bruner, and Lee Roy (Vivian) Bruner.
Memorial Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 7 at Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg, MO. Inurnment will follow in Civil Bend Christian Cemetery, Pattonsburg, MO.
