James Donald Lasher, 70, Gallatin, passed away on Sept. 16, 2017, at 12:45 a.m. at his home in Gallatin, Mo.

Jim was born on Dec. 29, 1946, to Oris and Wilma Lasher of Jameson, Mo.

He graduated Jameson High School in 1964. Jim went on to play basketball for Trenton Junior College in Trenton, Mo., and then furthered his education at Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, Mo.

Jim enlisted in the Army in January 1968. He served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in August 1969.

On Oct. 25, 1969, Jim was united in marriage to Janet Marie Schweizer in Gallatin, Mo. They were married for almost 44 years until Janet’s passing in 2013. During their marriage, they had three children, Brian, Christopher and Sandy.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Janet and his parents, Oris and Wilma.

He is survived of the home by Brian, Gallatin, Mo., Chris, St. Joseph, Mo., and Sandy, Cameron, Mo.; two grandsons, Austin and Grant.

Services: 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Visitation: 12-1 p.m., prior to the visitation.
