Daviess County OATS Committee will auction off a quilt block and a vintage rocker during Chautauqua, to be held the weekend of Sept. 16-17. The barn quilt block was made by Pat Yost. It is painted red and blue on a white background in a friendship pattern. The vintage rocker is from an Amish shop in Jamesport.

This will be the last fundraiser for the Daviess County OATS Committee. The Committee is discontinuing its regular monthly meetings. The final regular Daviess County Committee meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Daviess County Library.

Meetings will still be held by the current board members as warranted. Daviess County board members are Joyce Becerra, Galen Wilson, Marge Hennen, Velma Maddox, Pat Yost and Marie Toney.

The OATS bus will continue to run as before and riders may still call the same numbers to schedule transportation.

“We thank the community for its support,” said OATS Board President Joyce Becerra. “We trust area residents will continue to support OATS. The bus is still up and running and we need riders. Remember that the OATS bus is a public transportation system that is available to everyone, not just seniors. The OATS bus takes people to work, doctor appointments, and shopping so they can continue to live independently.”
