Circuit Court
The following cases were heard by Judge Thomas Chapman on June 30:
Anthony Dean Davis plead guilty to parental kidnapping, D felony, and a sentence assessment report was ordered. Davis abducted his son, a second-grader at Gallatin R-5, on Dec. 4, 2016. Davis and his son were found in Brownsville, Texas, on Dec. 15, 2016, and his son Seth was returned to his mother, who resides in Gallatin.
A jury trial for James Templeton was rescheduled to Jan. 23-26, 2018, on charges of abuse of a child and two counts of attempted statutory sodomy, first degree.
Civil cases filed: Certificates of lien, DOR, taxes, were entered against Amy L. Lockridge, Jamesport; Earl G. Brown, Pattonsburg; Shay Esbeck, Gallatin; Justin E. Lockridge, Jamesport; Annamieka Lucas, Gallatin; Ruby E. Lockridge, Jamesport; 3L Feed and Supply LLC, Jamesport; Martha Reed, Seguin, Texas, and Riverfire Naturals LLC, Gallatin.
County Commission
James Lewis, road and bridge supervisor, met with commissioners regarding issues around the county.
Commissioners viewed a training webinar for FacilityDude work order application.
Chip Winger, Sheridan Township, discussed 185th Street and fixing culverts for Sheridan Township.
Commissioners signed a letter for application for funding for the container and travel for the Region B/Rapid Removal grant. This funding will be from the city/county portion of the District Solid Waste Grant Fund.
John Wells, Jackson Township, discussed low water crossing drainage on 320th Street and the concrete crossing on Nickel Avenue in Jackson Township.
David McWilliams, coroner, submitted his Missouri Coroners and Medical Examiners Association training hours for 2017.
In the afternoon commissioners reviewed roads, bridges, culverts, and brush in Jamesport, Harrison, Sheridan, Monroe, Benton and Jackson Townships.
The meeting adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
These are the unapproved minutes of June 28, 2017. Randy Sims, presiding commissioner, and David Cox, first district commissioner, were present. Wayne Uthe, second district commissioner, joined the meeting at 8:30 a.m. Minutes and abatements were approved and bills were authorized.
Associate Division
Jacob A. Barnes, St. Joseph, was charged June 29 with tampering with motor vehicle and stealing, both D felonies. According to the probable cause statement, Barnes took a 2009 Scion TC passenger vehicle from Pattonsburg without the owner’s consent on May 15, 2017. He drove to a location in DeKalb County, where the vehicle was later recovered by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s office after being reported stolen. There were several items inside the car when it was stolen including a trumpet valued at $5,000 which was on loan from the Pattonsburg School District to the victim.
Marriages
Judge Daren Adkins conducted the following marriages: William E. Taul, 36, Cameron, and Holly Jean Newell, 37, Cameron, on June 30; Harold James Russell, 24, Kidder, and Holly Kameal Anderson, 29, Cameron, on July 3.
