The ROMEOs returned to the Corner Cafe in Gallatin on June 20 marking their eighth year visit. Between 40 and 50 riders made it this year. The shiny steel bikes parked outside the café and up and down the courthouse square belong to the group: Retired Old Motorists Eating Out. This club travels for the enjoyment of the ride. They have no president, no dues, and no real organization of any kind. Nor do they meet up and ride in large groups – they each make their own way and meet at their destination. They are as eclectic as the bikes they ride which range from 200cc motor scooters and large touring bikes and trikes, to antique and futuristic bikes. Their common bond is they all love motorcycles and they all like to eat. Small towns are chosen because they are off the interstates and usually with something of interest nearby, and more often than not, they offer good home cooking. Plus the club enjoys supporting their local rural economies.
