The Boy Scout Tribe of Mic-O-Say Feast on June 3 will mark the start of the 2017 camping season at Camp Geiger, according to tribal leaders. The feast is an annual gathering designed to celebrate the achievements of the past year and to launch another year of camping.

Retreats will be held for Runners, Tom-Tom Beaters, and Fire Builders during the day. They are designed to prepare these tribal leaders for their summer camp responsibilities.
New sessions for Braves and Warriors have been added to help them prepare for camp also.

Registration for the feast will begin at 4 p.m. at the Camp Geiger Trading Post. Dinner will be held at 6 p.m. in the dining hall followed by the formal ceremonies at dusk. The highlight of the evening will be the selection of a new Chieftain. The tradition of selecting an annual Chieftain was started in 1948. The current Chieftain is Todd Graves, a scouting alumnus of Troop 714 in Edgerton.
Scout Executive H. Roe Bartle started the Tribe of Mic-O-Say in 1925 in the St. Joseph area. Since its founding, over 20,000 Scouts and adults have been inducted into the tribe.
