Non-certified staff was retained with a 2% salary increase during the May 15 meeting of the North Daviess
R-3 Board of Education.
A facility update was given. The third floor air conditioner will need to be replaced.
Technology was discussed for grades 7-12, particularly how the district needs more laptop computers. Additional research is needed before purchase.
Besides the routine yearly maintenance of the floors, the summer maintenance list includes painting the gym, replacing security lights, replacing boards under the kitchen sink, updating the benches in the gym, and maybe adding storage space in the kitchen area.
Judy Alden was renewed as speech therapist.
Attendance is at 95.62% with enrollment 86.
Third through fifth grade attended the ‘Day at the K’, and kindergarten, first and second grades went to SeaLife and Kaleidoscope. Preschool screenings are done. Music concert and spring awards ceremony was held.
MAP scores are in for grades 3-8 with proficient or advanced at 57% in language arts, 37% in math, and 29% in science. ACT testing went well.
FFA and FBLA banquet was held. FBLA had a trash pick-up day.
Dakota Boe qualified for the 110 hurdles in district and placed eighth in sectionals. Graduation was well attended. Seniors are now gone on their senior trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
Pattonsburg district wants to use the Jameson ball field for junior high softball practice.
Next board meeting was set for June 19.
