The North Central Missouri Development Alliance announced it has contracted with Phil Tate of Gallatin to serve as interim director and advisor for the alliance until the position is filled.
The current economic developer for the alliance and longtime community developer for the City of Trenton, Ralph Boots, is leaving the position to become the executive director for the Liberty Economic Development Corporation. He will continue to work on current projects and serve the alliance until his last day on June 9.

Tate is a former state representative, serving this area in the Missouri House from 1986 to 1997.

Tate will work on a part-time basis from his home and also travel to Trenton for meetings as required. His primary responsibility will be to work with ConAgra officials and other interested parties concerning the future of the plant on Harris Avenue. ConAgra has announced that the plant will close in May of 2018.

Tate will be assisted by Jackie Soptic, assistant executive director of the Green Hills Regional Planning Commission, in dealing with other current industrial prospects.
